CFA Institute Research Challenge UM-MBCS Campus Contest
What is this competition?
The CFA Charter is one of the most prestigious professional qualifications in the investment field. Each year, CFA Institute hosts a global case competition, inviting university teams to conduct in-depth research on listed companies and produce equity research reports, with the global finals held on Wall Street.
MBCS organized the UM campus selection to form a representative team for the Hong Kong regional round. In 2023, the UM team defeated several top universities in Hong Kong and won the East Asia Championship—marking the beginning of our record of excellence.
In 2024, our first edition of the full business competition series already achieved major milestones, becoming the largest on-campus business case competition at the UM. Each lecture attracted over 150 attendees, with more than 300 participants ranging from undergraduates to PhD students, forming over 70 teams. The event was supported by 3 Deans from Faculty of Business Administration, several professors, government official, corporate sponsors, and was widely praised by fellow students.
